We went to the doctor yesterday. The results of the CT scan done on him last Saturday show that when the tumors in his brain became active again, they seeded his entire brain. He has somewhere between 7-9 new tumors growing all over his brain. Radiation and surgery are not an option, and since chemo cannot cross the blood brain barrier, Jim decided to stop chemo. He wants the last 2-4 weeks of his life to be as fun and comfortable as possible, rather than being tired and miserable from chemo. He's started drinking and smoking again; why not? And in typical Jim fashion, he has decided to change the rules and host his own 'celebration of life.' Next Saturday, February 24, 2007, at 9pm, Jim will be hosting his farewell party at the Lodge (if he's still cognizant enough). There will be drinkin, smoking and joking going on. If you are local, bring yourself. If you are not local, the phone number to the Lodge is 488-9378. Join us in whatever way you can.
