Jim is beginning to deteriorate pretty quickly. His left side has become weaker, almost to the point of no longer working. Today we got a wheelchair for him, and on Monday a hospital bed will be delivered. Jim's wish is to die at home, and my intention is to honor that wish as much as I am able. Being unable to lift him when he falls is the biggest challenge, as I am alone with him most of the time. For now, he's still able to help me help him get back up, but it's starting to look like that will change within a few days, at which point I will most likely be forced to put him in the hospital. We have a hospice volunteer now, so perhaps I can get enough help in that direction so that he doesn't need to go in the hospital.
