"How much longer do I have to do this?"
At first I didn't hear him, as I was trying to give him a bath, and he speaks in little more than a whisper now. So he grabbed my hair and pulled me real close to his face, kissed me and asked,
"How much longer do I have to do this?"
I am still trying to figure out the answer to that one...
I've been doing some research on end of life issues, and found this really excellent series from PBS. It's called, "On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying." Here's the link to it -

I've also added a few links in the sidebar for anyone wishing to learn more about dying with dignity.

Lordy, that was hard to read.
M. and I have spoken of end of life issues often since our Dads passed away this summer, both of cancer.
We pray for Jim to cross over as pain-free, peaceful, and unafraid as possible, and for you and the kids during this sad chapter in the Book of Life.
With Love and Light,
M&Ms
Oh Faith....as you know, and I've told you, I'm not any good at dealing with these issues, or be any help what so ever. I just wish there was some way to make it be over for him and end the pain. He's gave it the best that he has, and quite apparently there is just something left in him that isn't done yet! He's such an amazing person for hanging on this long! Be sure to kiss him and tell him I love him for me!! Thinking lots of both of you these days, wish there was something that I could say or do to make this "poof" disappear......
Love you both lots,
Bon
"I am still trying to figure out the answer to that one..."
Really? I would have thought the answer would be an easy one... - the same thing you would tell a friend or loved one who is putting themselves through hell for the benefit of their own friends and family in any painful situation...
"Honey - you don't have to do anything, anymore, for anyone... you are free to be... free to fly... free to soar... You gotta do what is right for YOU!"
Then yet... none of us are in your shoes... and I **know** you've already told him that.
you know my # - I'm here (was very sick last week.. no longer contagious...)
