Jim's pain is escalating again. He's begun to complain of pain in his ribs and hips. Whether that is from the cancer spreading again, or because he's insistent on lying in one position all the time, it's hard to tell. I talked with his nurse, and we decided to increase the amount of morphine he's receiving in his drip. It will most likely make him more sleepy and less lucid, but the goal is to keep him as comfortable and pain-free as possible.

In a way I am glad to hear Jim is hanging in there, but in another way sad if it causing him alot of pain. Could I get a copy of the picture of his flag flying at the post? I think it is a great honor to have his falg flying there and that you were able to that. All of us from the service department here send our regards and best wishes to both you and Jim. I hope to see him on Wednesday. Tell Jim I said hello and that I will see him on Wednesday. I should be there around 11:00 am if my flight is on time. Bob Hendrix
My thoughts and prayers are with you in these final days of Jim's journey. Peace be with you my friend.

Faith,
I just wanted you to know that although I am miles away, I am holding you in my heart during these difficult days.
